Rising and Setting directions of the zodiac constellations and Ophiuchus  As well as the zodiac constellations, the rising and setting directions in this table also apply to the Sun, Moon and planets at the specific times when they pass through each constellation. For example, at latitude 50º North, Gemini rises in the North-east and sets in the North-west; the Sun, Moon and planets will also rise/set in these directions whenever they pass through Gemini. Directions are given using the standard 16-sector division of the compass, where each sector spans 22º.5 of the horizon (zodiac signs from 4yeo.com).
